Gig Alert/Bonus MP3: Hear Paul Eason's "If You Were Really Here," See Him at The Aardvark
Paul EasonSinger-songwriter Paul Eason grew up in Houston, went to college in San Marcos and, predictably, ended up in Austin to ply his musical craft.
We won't hold that against him.
And, judging by the quality of Eason's country/folk, it's difficult to begrudge the guy his choice of cities. Clearly influenced by the likes of Robert Earle Keen and George Strait, Eason's wry wit and detailed narratives should appeal to fans of both traditional country and those enamored with the alt-country variety.
Eason's most recent effort is called The Mountains of Nuevo Leon and Eason was kind enough to offer up a free MP3 of a cut from said album in anticipation of his show in Fort Worth tonight at the Aardvark. The song's called "If You Were Really Here" and you can check it out after the jump.

Titus AndronicusTitus Andronicus may have been the headliners at Sons of Hermann Hall last night, but even that band admitted while on stage last night that the true heroes of the evening were the local openers in Bizarro Kids.
No, not because the Bizarro Kids's three-song, instrumental offering to the small crowd of early arrivers was especially gripping or anything like that. Rather, because, without Bizarro Kids' gear--and the band's willingness to share that gear--this show could been a disaster.

Michael C. Hall Films Dexter Following a Big Emmy Weekend
Michael C. Hall was back on the set of Dexter in LA yesterday after celebrating Emmy weekend alongside his costar and wife Jennifer Carpenter - they even held hands all the way down the red carpet! MCH and the show were up for awards and while they didn't win, John Lithgow did for his guest-starring stint on season three. Jennifer also ranked among our best dressed of the evening in her one-shouldered Oday Shakar gown. The couple have spent lots of time working together this Summer between filming new episodes and swinging by the TCA, where Michael himself told us about the changes to come for his character.
